Follow the Appalachian trail until it crosses over Route 87 (NYS Thruway) just South of Arden NY. Walk North on Route 87 (avoiding police as this is illegal) to exit 18 and follow the directions below. | |

Adirondack Trailways (800-225-6815) provides bus service to New Paltz from New York City. The bus station is right next door to the New Paltz Hostel and about 15 minutes by car to Joette's House. It is on Route 299 (Main Street) in New Paltz so you can follow the directions from Exit 18 below. | |

From NYC: | Take the George Washington Bridge to the Palisades Parkway North (The easiest way is to be in the right hand lane of the bridge's upper road way when you get to NJ) Take the Palisades to exit 9W (Not Route 9W) on to Route 287 West/87 North. Stay on Route 87 North to exit 18 and follow directions below. |

From Ithaca | Take Route 17 East/South from Binghampton towards NYC. Take exit 100 on to Route 52 East (Towards Woodbourne). Take Route 52 East for 19 miles to left on Route 209 North at light in Ellenville. Take Route 209 North for approximately 7 miles to right on Route 44/55 going East. Take 44/55 aproximately 11 miles to left on to Guilford Road (Guilford Road is aproximately 50 yards past the intersetcion with Route 299). Take Guilford Road aprox. 1/4 mile to first left on to Guilford Schoolhouse Road. Take Guilford Schoolhouse Road 1/4 mile to the driveway of 160 on your left (Opposite your first right, Ramah Lane.) |

Stewart Airport, Newburgh NY | Stewart is the closest Airport, aproximately 1/2 hour away. Exit the airport on Bruening Road. Turn left on to Route 207 at the light. Take your second left on to Union Ave (Immediately after the underpass). Turn right at the first light on to Route 17K. Turn left at the first light to the Route 87 (NYS Thruway) toll plaza. Follow Route 87 North to exit 18 and follow directions below. |

Albany Airport, Albany NY | Albany is the next closest, about 1 and 1/2 hours away. After exiting the airport follow signs to Route 87 (also called The Northway) South. Stay on Route 87 South (becomes NYS Thruway) when it intersects Route 90. You will go through a toll plaza. Continue to follow Route 87 South to exit 18 and follow directions below. |

Newark Airport, Newark NJ |
Newark is your next best option but still 2 hours away. After exiting the airport take Route 95 North (New Jersey Turnpike) to Route 80 West. Take Route 80 West to Route 17 North. Take Route 17 North to Route 87 North (NYS Thruway) to exit 18 and follow directions below. |

Laguardia Airport, NYC | Laguradia is at least 2 and 1/2 hours away (a better choice than JFK but still not a great one). Exit the Airport on to the Grand Central Parkway heading East towards the Tri-boro bridge. After crossing the bridge take the Major Deagan (Route 87 North) to exit 18 and follow directions below (aproxiamtely 76 miles). |

JFK Airport, NYC | JFK is at least 2 and 3/4 hours away (Don't do it unless you have no choice). Exit the airport heading North on the Van Wyck Exspressway (Route 678). Follow signs on to the Grand Central Parkway. Take the Grand Central Parkway to the Tri-boro bridge. After crossing the bridge take the Major Deagan (Route 87 North) to exit 18 and follow directions below (aproxiamtely 76 miles). |
| FROM EXIT 18 on Route 87 (NYS Thruway) | ||
| 1. Take a left on Route 299/Main St. at the light after passing through the toll plaza. Follow 299/Main St. for approximately 7 miles till it T's at Route 44/55. (You will travel through the town of New Paltz, out the other side and begin to climb up in to the mountains) |

| 2. Take a left on to 44/55 for aproxiamtely 50 yards to Guilford Rd.. | ||
| 3. Take your first left on to Guilford Rd. (you will go down a steep hill) for aproximately 1/4 mile to Guilford Schoolhouse Rd. | ||
| 4. Take your first left on to Guilford Schoolhouse Rd. for aproximately 1/4 mile to the driveway of 160 Guilford Schoolhouse Rd. (On your left side opposite the first right, Ramah Lane.) | ||
| 5. Please park on Guilford Schoolhouse Rd or Ramah Lane and walk up the driveway. | ||
